English language challenges

Hi! this is my last post (at least for this semester) so I’m going to write about the course, my experience, and my challenges for this subject.

First, I have to recognize and accept that I really learned about this language these semesters, and I’m much better than the beginnig.

But especifically this semester I have learned with the classes and writing blogs every Friday, I think that talk abput differents things it’s really helpful for extend my vocabulary and I can understand and talk about things (in English obviously) that I couldn’t before, for example give my opinion in some issues importants for this days, or talk about my future, ore ven talk about what would do if I win the lotery haha, I thing that this is really interesting. Also, in classes I practiced my listening and writing. For my speaking, I practiced  doing videos, and I found really interesting and entertining, and most important, really helpful to my learning.

About my plans to improved and keep learning English, I think that even  if I  pass this subject in the university, I need to take more courses to practice my speaking, because that, in my opinión, is the must difficult part of my learning. So, like I mentioned before, making videos and talking about differents and interesting things it´s really helpful and I hope keep doing this in the future.

Finally, I believe that is very important learn English nowadays, because is a language that most of the countries know and talk. So, if I’m going to travel or study outside the country I need to understand and talk English alteast.

So, after say all this things, I have to say goodbye, for now! Haha until the next, bye!!

Changes to your study program

Hi all! Today I’m going to write about the changes I would do in my study program. First, mention that I’m studying Social Work and I’m course second grade, so I will focus my opinions in these two years. 

I think that I would change the orientation of some subjects, for example, philosophy. In this subject, we saw things that really didn’t matter for any other subject or didn’t pass theories philosophical to help to developed critical thinking, even the course was little related with the topics of the career. So, I would definitely change the content of the subject. Also, in others subjects, I would change the way of approach Statistical (I and II), because I consider that is very basic or doesn’t teach very well how to do some things that in my opinion are very important for our job in the future. Also, the way to teach is a little impersonal or disorderly and sometimes you really need the help of the teacher.

All of this is for the first two years. I think that I would like to change for the rest of the semesters the way to reschedule the end of the semester when we have had “paro”, but I think that this, in particular, depends to the teacher and the students in each subject.

Finally, I would like to say that in general, I like my study program, but since it’s a “new career” (was refounded) I think that some things should be reprogrammed, specially for the next generation.

Opinions

What is your opinion about tattoos?

In my opinion, I think that getting a tattoo is a choice that only you have to make, because is your body and I believe is a decision so personal that you can’t take others opinions. I think the tattoos are a representation of yourself and many time represents things that matters to people or things that they can remember forever. I believe that the tattoos are a beautiful expression of art that you can have in your body.

What is your opinion about legalizing abortion in some cases?

I really think and fight for a total legalization of abortion in any case, because is urgent to help to many women in the world, to make sure a good medical attention and support in all the process. Because is not about when life start, or if the zygote suffers, is about the health and life of women that practice abortion, so is a social and politic problem that the states should resolve, for all the women in the world that can’t take other decision.

What is your opinion about the immigration situation in Chile?

I think that this is a political problem that in Chile is take a bad way. In this country be an immigration is motive of discrimination even if you are just a kid, the idea of immigrants (the Latin-American or African immigrants, because European are overvalued in a good way) is so bad and de mass media help to this idea. So I really believe that the change has to come of the state and educate all the Chileans to no judge for your origin and discriminate even in your work.

What is your opinion about animal testing?

I really think that do this is so heartless and cruel treatment with the animals, because we have other ways of testing, and many brands was demonstrateand get the same products with other ways. So I think that this too is a political issue that the society and everyone have to help to visualize this abuse with the animals.

What would you do if you won the lottery?

 Today I’m going to write a very interesting post, because it’s about answer the question: What would you do if you won the lottery?.

In many occasions, I try to think what I would do if that happens, and I think  the first thing that I would do it’s definitely help to my mom and dad in the construction of their dream house, because I know how difficult has been, even  buy the plot. Then, I would buy a lot of clothing, for all the seasons, I really love it, and I would buy clothes for my friends and family too, like gifts. Then, I would buy a department for myself, near to the university, because I live away from Santiago.

Then, (certainly I will win a big lottery haha)  I would pay my studies or I would keep a little money for that. Simultaneously, I would travel around the world, start in Latinoamerica and then I would go to Europa, specifically to the United Kingdom, and after I would travel to Oceanía. I would really like to go to remote places and relax, or go to quiet places.

I think that I should invest part of the money, for the future. But knowing me, I couldn’t do that. But I would try.

Finally, I would allocate other part of the cash to help some foundations, it doesn’t matter which, while helping to animals or people that really need.  

Post graduate studies

Hi all! This week in my post, I’m going to write about Post graduate studies.

I think that this topic it’s difficult to approach for most of the people in Chile. This because the education, the really good education, it’s expensive, and many people have no access or even can't imagine the opportunity to have a higher education, like the university. So, I really think that nowadays, the post graduate studies it’s a luxury.

But, in a personal way, I think that if in the future, when I can pay my education, or if I could win a grant, I definitely accept.

One of my dreams is study abroad. I would be delighted to travel and learn about other countries and at the same time, learn about something that I like or something that be related to my career, Social Work.

 However, I have to say that this topical sound distant to me, because I'm in second grade, and I want and need to work for a while after my graduation,  before I think in studies post-graduation, because I can’t pay for that. But, it’s not an impossible thing, because I believe that in Chile, nowadays, this is a “level” that you have to make for have a good job in your area of study and, as long as over the years, these studies are more extended to other countries

My favorite animal

Hi! In this post, I'm going to talk about my favorite animal.

Well, I always loved animals, and most especially land animals. I adore their freedom, and their ability to adapt to any challenge or obstacle that nature brings.

So, I can say that my favorite land animal is a pet and is the dog, for many reasons. I’ve known many of them, and always their have so much to give, and they are so grateful to anyone who gives anything to them. Also, I adore the cats, but sadly, their cause me allergies, and even when I sleep in a bed with a cat sleep there I will have a stuffy nose and I couldn't breathe.

But, come back to the dogs, I really adore them and I always see videos about them haha. I would say that I like most of the animals similar to dogs, like foxes, or wolfs, but I think that I don’t really know them, like closely, so I can’t say certainly that I love them.

Finally I will talk about my dog. His name is Antu and he has one and a half years old. He is so crazy and always is doing something and doing follies. Most of the time, I get home and I have to fix all. But I really love him.

My future job

Hi!! in this post I'm going to write about my future job.

When I was a child, I remember that I didn’t have a dream job, and it was hard to make a choise about my career in highschool. The only thing I always liked is work with people and the relations between people, so my dream job, certainly, should be related with this.

So, if I think in my future job, and keep in mind my present career, Social Work, I think that I'm going to work with people who ask or need my help for their development in the society. Also, I would like work with kids or people with HIV. I really need to work in social politicals that help to change the society, because some lifestyles are so degrading and its not this people's fault.

The thing that I like the must about my career its that give me many options to dedícate in my future, since education to health, inmigration, work with womens and empowerment them to change her realities. I like so much my decition to studying this.
